What?!? 10?!?

How did I get a 10 year old so fast in our house? Wow have the years gone by so quickly! So here is a glimpse into the festivities that went on for his birthday. His party was held the day after his birthday, so we partied for a few days.

So these were the events on his actual birthday:
First he woke up to a balloon avalanche in the morning

Birthday pancakes

Had a new "DO" for school

Found a message on his mirror

Cupcakes for his class

Window markers...such a cheap way to make a kid feel special

Now for his party. I kinda have an in. My husband works for New Holland and we have a big New Holland training center for...well...training people on New Holland equipment. It is a huge building with new equipment in it which equals a pretty cool playground for kids. So at 5 pm we took over for a 10 year olds birthday party. The only problem was that the building is often rented out to other companies for various events and it so happened that all the equipment had been moved out for another event. Man was our guy bummed out, so was I. But dad to the rescue, he drove in some equipment just for the party. Here are some of the party highlights:
Baskets from a dollar store with each kids name cut out on  my Cricut cutter

Contents of the take home gift

BBQ hamburgers for supper

For the cake I took a drawing he had made and had it put on the cake. I had to stress NO GREEN on the cake.
One of the games I had them play was a Lego creation game. First I hid bags with one cup of lego around the equipment, 4 bags per kid. When they found all their bags they had 5 minutes to create something...anything! It was fun to watch them all.

Here they had to shoot rubber bands at the toilet paper to try and drop the pop can.

So I think he had a pretty time. I was excited to try out somethings I had seen on pinterest. I think they made his day extra special. He was saving money for buying a new bike. We ordered it from Walmart and it got delivered today. He is pretty stoked, so hopefully we can get it put together really soon.

Love the lego game - why didn't I ever think of that for my Lego crazy son.
