From a different veiwpoint

My parents view has changed. The view out the window that is.

This is what my parents now see from their living room window.

They also see this sight every morning at 8:30 am and again at 3:08 pm every afternoon.
A sight they haven't seen in almost 20 years.

I can'y say enough how gracious my parents have been over the last 8 months. We only planned on being here 5 months. My kids think this is the best set up ever! My little girl comes barrelling in the door after school and I have my arms open ready for a hug and the first thing she asks is," Where is Grandma?" My Mom and Dad have had the house to themselves for 16 years, now they have not only their daughter back but a son-in-law, and 2 grandkids!

Now they have toys lying around everywhere, getting asked "why" a thousand times, artwork all over the house and bikes in the driveway. This is such a unique experience for my kids. The other day they both sat with my dad and he went through some old photos. They loved hearing stories from "long ago" (to them anyways). They loved seeing the pictures of Mom when she was little, the pets we used to have, the clothes we used to wear, and the vehicles we used to drive. I wished I could of had a video recorder at that moment. I am sure they are glad summer is pretty close to being here, so we can all be outside.

The 2 bundles of energy with their "rides"

With the nice weather comes outdoor activities. The kids helped my mom plant potatoes in the garden today. I love it that they still get excited about helping out like this. Also with spring comes the decorating of the yard. My mom gave the kids free reign with the birds and flowers.
Take a close look, notice the squirrel on the right? Our little girl thought he needed some added decoration.

Yup, she piled a bunch of pine cones in front of him.

We are extremely grateful for a safe place to live while we build our house.

Speaking of our house...
The big news is that we passed our structural inspection!!! Now we have clear sailing to the end. This is such a big relief. I am very proud of Trevor and all the work he has done on the house.

What's next? Drywall and siding. We will be doing the drywall ourselves and are hoping to get the siding installed soon. Our garage doors are also on their way and will be installed in 2 weeks. It will be good to have the house locked up.

These are the stairs going up to the bonus room.

The stairs up to the kitchen from the mudroom

Our staircase to upstairs.
