Okay so I am a bit behind on the posting.
Here is our weekend at the Rempel Cottage. On the Aug Long the Park we are in has Grindstone Days. They have a pancake breakfast along with draws( we never win anything),and have some carnival games for the kids. Then on Sunday they have races at the beach like sack races, backwards race, shoe scramble, balloon toss and followed by a candy scramble(Our poor little girl did not do well in this) . There is also beach volleyball but sadly we(the Grindstone Cowboys) did not enter a team. (I was cheering for the Rancid Tuna team). But our kids did have fun playing at the beach eating hotdogs and cotton candy.

Grandpa took some of the kids fishing. This was a first our young guy. Although nothing was caught the fish were biting and took about 10 minnows from our lines.
We had a birthday party for all the nieces. Their birthdays all fall After July so it works well. The nephew birthdays are in April to June. Birthday hats were made and a cake was brought, it was great.

To me the best times happen after the kids go to bed. Don't get me wrong there are good times with all the cute little guys(some not so little anymore). But that time when it is just adults is completely crazy. Whether it is playing pit(I am horrible at this game but love it), or the guys talking about all the things they could do with I-beams, it is a good time. Now if you are talking with any of the Rempel Men and they start talking bigger than their britches, just look at them and say," B T A" . Which stands for Big Talkers Association. Which was formed this very weekend. As to the reference to the BTA Wives... ask them.
It was a great weekend and it ended with a lunch with our dearly missed friends in Elm Creek.
The drive didn't seem too unbearable... I follow that statement with a great thankfulness for portable DVD players!!
