Ahhh The Mountians!

I love going to see those huge silent giants to the west. They have such a presence when you get up close . My kids absolutly love going to see them too. There are often long goodbyes to them as we are driving away. We went to Didsbury to visit friends on Monday and Tuesday, had a great time of catching up. Thanks Dave for the great steaks!! And for Amy for giving up your room for us, much appreciated. Then we met Uncle Andrew and Aunt Stephanie for a picnic in Kananaskis country , and then off to Banff for 2 nights. We spent a whole day wandering around and scrambling up as many rocks as we could. We only wish that Daddy could have been there to join us, oh well, I guess his trip to Austailia will have to do. We took the gondola up Sulfur Mountain and took a couple hours to climb many many stairs to reach what looked like a light house, but wasn't . Then we had lunch and ran around the park for a while, we watched a group of South Africans play football(soccer for us folk), the kids were quite amazed at their talent. As we were driving back to our hotel just outside Canmore, we stopped at Lake Minnewanka, suprisingly enough it was not a cold lake at all and many stones and sticks were collected. On our way home we stopped in Didsbury again to see some more friends. After refuelling the van at a steal of .99/litre, we were on our way back to our own beds, and our own bedrooms. A great week and uneventful driving is always good!
