This is as high up as we could go. It's massive. How could they build something this big without cranes. They said to took 200 oxen and carts going every day for many months to bring over all the marble that was used. I stood there looking at this monstrous ruin. And I thought, "how many lives ended in that place?". Lives of criminals,prisoners of war and people for their faith. Most for the sport of it, at the will of a ruler...all for power.

Wow! It seems amazing and has now moved up my scale of places to go see! The history of it is so icky though isn't it -- just as you wrote.
