Been a while...

I guess it's been a while since I have posted. So here is kinda of an update from over the summer and what's what in our loves right now.

We were in and out of Manitoba 3 times this summer. So we did get to go tot he cottage twice. We had pretty good weather both times.

Time on the dock was great.

Riding lessons on Spinner

August long was great with the whole family.

That was one huge fish! I should have measured it but I didn't. Grandpa cleaned it for us and we grilled it when we got home. He also caught a Jackfish.

Soccer camp was so much fun. We had 2 of the coaches staying with us for the  week. It was great  to cool off on the pool.

We had a goof off day in the city on our last week of summer holidays. We watched Despicable Me 2, spray park, supper in the park, shoe shopping and ice cream.

You might notice there weren't any pictures of Spruce Meadows, with the flood this year, it really wasn't feasible.
Both kids were at Redberry camp the same week, so I did some relaxing of my own reading and floating on the pool.
I have learned how to deal with lice this summer, as well as what a burst blood vessel in the eye looks like, infected spider bites and the value of Tee tree oil.

I guess I should let you all know that we tried selling our house, but we didn't get any interest, we weren't totally surprised, not much in our town sold all summer. Also the job opportunity was not the best timing either.  So we stay where we are, happily I will add.

We have done a fair bit of clearing dead trees, which makes our front yard bare, but we will be planting more trees to fill it in and I have a garden space!!! So excited to have fresh potatoes, corn and peas next year. We have done lots of trenching as well, so if we have lots of water next spring hopefully our pond won't overflow into the trees and kill more of them. It seemed to work where we did it last year.

Our kids just keep growing up. They started grade 4 and grade 5.

We have a lot of fun with our little family and look for ward to more adventures along the way.
Well best be running, we are having a bonfire tonight...Rempel style if you know what I mean...with kids from Bethany. So to our neighbours, if you see flames reaching above the trees, its' just us...come on over and join us!

Melanie,
I heard via Michelle that you guys were staying put which I thought was good news!
Seems like you had a good summer. Now time to get back into the school routine. With fall comes our chance to get creative with the cooler weather and less outside time. What projects are you dreaming up?
