Desoto Beach is our favourite beach down there. There is so much beach that you can easily find a nice spot not too close to another family. There is also a fort you can go though, but we haven't done that yet...when you see 6 school buses lined up...yeah we can go another day.
There are 3 things we love to do at the beach:
1) play in the waves
2) look for shells and Sand Dollars(seems to be the jackpot item down there if you do find one)
3) Build sand castles
Here is our guy enjoying the water, and that is a dolphin in the background!
Playin' in the waves
We got the whole family joining us in the sand castle building
Trevor took his little girl on a long shell hunt, and they came bak with about 4 sand dollars!
This particular day ended with us going out for Trevor's Dad's 65th birthday. We went to an Amish Heritage restaurant. It was so good! They even gave him a piece of pie and sang! (I guess I should admit I did tip the waitress off...hee hee)
Seeing my family have fun is always the highlight of my trip, especially when at places like a beach. It proves that you don't need big theme parks to make memories. My kids always talk about the sand castles we have designed at the various beaches...no 2 ever come out the same you know...just spending time with them is awesome!
