We had a pretty busy Thanksgiving weekend. The kids had friday and monday off, so it made for a nice 4 day weekend.
We really wanted to work on putting the stone on our house but it was a very slow start. We didn't get it all done which we were hoping. We should know by now that nothing ever goes according to plan when it come to this house.
But on Sunday I made a turkey which I haven't done in a very long time. It was a quiet little supper with our family and my mom and my Sister- in -law. I even made Red Velvet cake from a mix. I found the recipe for the original icing that was used by the Waldorf Asotira. I will be bringing home many more of these cake mixes whenever I go to the US
There was a pretty important hockey game on TV on Sunday Afternoon. Trevor was pretty excited about the Winnipeg Jets playing their first game. He was at the very last one in 1996. Yes they lost but it was still good to see them play.
So who do you think we were cheering for on Sunday?
So then on monday we were back at the stone work again.
We had a little side trip to the medical clinic but it was for our little girl.
She was swinging and had her work gloves on. She went to lean back to to push herself, lost her grip and flipped off the seat and flipped right over and landed on a pile of 2x10 with her mouth.
There was lots of blood and we were pulling splinters out of her mouth. But wow is she one tough kid. Trevor had her calmed down in 2 minutes and by the time we got to the doctor, she was all smiles. She even got back on the swings when we got home...no gloves this time. All she had was 2 loose teeth Since she has not lost any teeth yet, the dentist was not worried.
It could have been so much worse, she definitely had someone looking out for her!
