Plain and simple I have picky eaters in my house. My husband would disagree. I find these wonderful recipes and would love to try them but I go through the ingredient list and see about 2 or 3 things that won't go over well. I have told them just to pick out the stuff they don't like , but after a while it just looks like a big waste of food. So my question to you is do you know what I could substitute for some off the offensive food items. Now I understand you don't have the context of the recipe I am talking about. Now most often they don't mind the flavour, it's the chunkiness they don't like.
They don't like:
-tomatoes =chunks, diced, canned, fresh
-onion
-broccoli
-cauliflower
-beans
-mushrooms(just the guys on this one)
-green peppers(again just the guys on this one)
-pineapple
-celery
-cabbage
-lettuce
-miracle whip/salad dressing( this is all of us)
-we all don't like cream cheese, and so many great looking desserts call for this
-baked fruit ( as in pies and tarts) ( again mostly just the guys)
-nuts in stuff
-lemon flavouring in desserts
-raisins
One recipe in particular is a Bruschetta Chicken Bake I found on the Mennonite Girls Can Cook site, I need a substitute for the canned tomatoes.
So if you have any suggestions , that would be much appreciated.

Wow - it is a bit restrictive. Nothing popped out into my head - most of our favorite meals have at least one or two of those items in them. Subsitute for canned tomatoes that doesn't change the dish - will they just do tomatoe sauce or liquid?
