This last week I was in Winnipeg shopping with Trevor's mom. We did the Tour de Value. In other words we hit 3 Value Villages and St Vital mall. I had much better luck, and boy did I find some deals. I have to admit that I do shop a little bit differently at Value Village. It takes more time and scrutiny over each article.
Now I don't need big name brands in my closet but I definitely look for them at Value Village because some of them are made better. Denim is the one thing I look for name brands because what you pay is what you get. There is a difference between the $10 regular price ones and name brands like Levi's, Miss Sixty and Sevens. But I never overlook any brand to try on. I hit it real good in this department but I must have tried on over 20 pairs of jeans
And a big thank you to Grandma for keeping the kids busy in the book aisle while I went treasure hunting. Also thank you to Grandma for having 30% off coupons for Value village, which made this Tour de Value evan more so!!
So here is the stash I came home with, a little something for everyone.
Winnipeg Jets t-shirt, a big hit, especially made Daddy proud. And a great weekend canvas duffle bag. I am thinking great for Camp!
Long sleeve Adidas shirt.
Camo pants, 2 long sleeve church type shirt and Roots long sleeve athletic shirt. All for our little dude.
Pretty in Pink. Anybody remember those old Adidas bags from the 80's? I just couldn't resist and of course the pink princess kind of claimed it for herself. Hello Kitty pants. And a Boca jacket
Back pack for school $2.47 at Sears
Pink, Horses and Rhinestones...need I say more
Pink cardigan type sweater, got this at Sears. 50% off clearance price!!
These I got for Trevor, the pair on the left are from Sears $7.94 for $40 jeans!!! The other pair are West 49 from Value Village
And for myself. I finally got the Jean Jacket I have been searching for for years!
Gap, I think it is new too, $7
Here is my big name brand purchase, Lucky jeans for $7!! They are so soft and so comfortable. And with the bad weather this summer I can easily wear them already! And of course I couldn't pass up the Coca- Cola shirt.
A couple pairs of shorts, the ones on the right are Bluenotes and a bit big so I need to take them in. The others are Chino's.
So my total was $90 for everything.
And I got:
2 pair adult shorts
3 pairs adult jeans
1 adult jean jacket
2 pair kids pants
1 adult t-shirt
7 long sleeve kids shirts/sweaters
1 kids t-shirt
2 duffle bags/Back Pack
I very roughly figured out that if I were to buy everything brand new that I got it would be about $500 and that is on the conservative side of guessing.
So I think I will have to make pilgrimages to Value Village in Winnipeg every once in a while.
