Well, it finally happened. I got the call I have been waiting for. And the fact that we made it all the way to February is pretty good. On Tuesday at about 1pm the phone rang and it was "The Kindergarten teacher". She said there had been an accident and that our little guy had "bonked" his nose on the Hill outside over Lunch Hour. She said it had bled alot but had now stopped and they had cleaned him up as good as they could. I asked if he needed to go to a Doctor, but she thought it wasn't broken. So I eagerly go to the school at 3pm to pick him up and see how he is doing.
Now, I am expecting him to be a little sad and have a completely bruised face. I thought he would see me and run straight for me to get the comfort only a mother can give... Yeah... No. Instead I get there and he is running around, almost doing cartwheels. He sees me and waves and proceeds to keep on playing. He is just fine. We watched for more bruising and if he complained of a headache, nothing. The story goes that he was walking up the hill with his sno rider in both hands, slipped and fell forward, not bracing himself, landing on his nose. So now we are teaching him how to fall with his arms bracing himself that he doesn't end up with a broken nose next time.
Good thing kids are resilient, I do expect more calls next year when our little girl hits Kindergarten, she tends to be a little more daring.
