My Other lives...

Okay I am stealing this idea from another blog(I hope you don't mind Cora-Lynn). If you could lead 5 other lives, what would they be. To me this is a hugely personal question because it hits my self-esteem pretty hard. I love being home with my kids ,I love being a mom, yes there are hard times, but all in all I LOVE being at home. The big BUT is that I often have felt very inferior to others who have gone to any sort of university and got a degree. Mostly I have gotten over this, but every so often something comes up that makes me wish I had been more adventuresome. When I can't sleep at night I dream of some of the things that I wish I could be. Here is my 5 other lives...

1) A professional Photographer like Annie Leibowitz( spelling?) . I love to photograph people and I love to travel.

2) A Fashion designer. I used to draw up stuff as a kid for Betty and Veronica.

3)A flight attendant. I actually almost did this but back then you had to be a certain height , I was 2" too short and you could not have glasses.

4)Equestrian something... Anything to do with horses. Mostly just have a ranch in Alberta and have many many horses and just ride them all day long.

5)Now this last one is almost too personal for me to write about because it is so hard to explain and the whole world would have to change for it to work. This is the one thing that I dream most about when I can't sleep. I apologize if I don't describe it well.

I am the head of an Organization called "Pathfinders" that helps people who are abused in any sort of situation, people who are dealing with addictions, people with any sort of mental illness , or just low-self esteem issues, but mainly with kids under the age of 16 who are in any of the above situations. I have centers all over the world that are connected. The staff is extremely well taken care of and are extremely loyal and will do anything needed to make this organization work. Each center has a gourmet cook so the food is good, there are state of the art gym facilities for staff and for the rehabilitation of the patients. No person is turned away because of money. The centres are non-profit but have massive fundraisers that raise all the funds needed to run all centers in the world. They all have the best people in their expertise working in all areas of the centers. My organization also has helped with many of the tragedies in the world, like 9/11 in the US, the bombing of the subway in Spain a few years ago , and avalanches that have happened all over the world, the many school shootings .

Okay by now you must be laughing, I know this ideal would/could never happen but isn't that what dreaming is all about? I open my eyes and do feel sad that this would never exist . I often think if only I had a billion dollars to make this work. But for now I get up and look at my 2 children and think that I have my own little "Pathfinders" in my own home. I am here to help them with all their issues , I am here to make sure they get all the help they need, I am the best in my field to help them. And I do have a good and loyal staff who will do anything to make this organization work, I guess you could say we have 2 CEO's. All I need now is the gourmet cook!
