Craft Weekend

Spending a few days doing what you love to do and not have to do is a good thing. I really enjoy the weekends I have spent at Redberry in the last year. It is fun to watch other people doing what they love. There is every type of crafter, or better put, Artisan there. Quilters, Scrapbookers, Painters, Needlework, and card makers ( which is my area). I had the privilege of watching Jessica paint this weekend. It is quite exciting to see a plain canvas converted to a beautiful image. It is also interesting to hear the different ways people interpreted the piece. Jessica must have been either internally laughing or shuddering every time someone would give their "take" on what was in production.

There definitely is a lot of creative energy in the building but for me it wasn't the most productive weekend although I was trying a few new techniques on cards. I did feel quite archaic with my Discman beside me. I do not own one of those fancy I-pods. I went through 3 sets of batteries since I could not find my cord that plugs into the wall. So now I feel I actually have a use for an I-Pod.

I have to say that Tim, you did go above and beyond when you ensured that every one's vehicle was plugged in . With the temps dipping to -45 there were many thankful women. Although now that I think of it you probably would have rather done that than have to boost 25 cars on Sunday afternoon in the freezing cold.

As the date for the next retreat is probably already set, I look forward to hopefully being there next time in April. And next time I am not going to eat so many Fuzzy Peaches and more of the pineapple.
