I have a hard time keeping gift giving secrets. Apparently as a kid whenever I made something in school for Father's Day or Mother's day I could never hold it till the day we were supposed to give it to Mom or Dad.
Well for the past few weeks I have had to keep a secret gift from our little girl. We were on the hunt for a dog, a great family pet. Our little girl struggles in school and when she has something else to focus on she tends to to focus more in school. We did have 2 cats for a while, but while we were on vacation...well, let's just say the circle of life kinda happened. So Trevor and I decided it was time to get a dog. We knew we wanted a black lab, we had had one before and we like their gentle natures. It's a good thing we didn't tell our little girl, she would have been a little disappointed after a couple of dogs didn't work out(long story here). So long story short, we found a beautiful Black Lab named Bella. Trevor was thinking about changing her name...are you kidding me? Bella is perfect! She is about 18 months old and comes from some people we know just out of town.
Here she is!!
Beautiful hey?
We told our little girl we were going for a meeting, she was not impressed and didn't want to go along. I was smiling the whole way there. The people had said they would put Bella in the barn as to hide her when we arrived. We got out and went out the barn , he opened the door and Bella came streaking out like a bolt of lightening. To say she is playful is an understatement. But she fetches great and actually drops it(which is something our other dog could never be trained to do).
It was love at first sight. Lauren couldn't quite get over the fact that Bella was ours. Then We had to tell her that we couldn't take Bella home today, as we were leaving for Manitoba for 10 days. So we will get Bella when we get home. Yeah, that didn't sit well with our little girl.
So after some time of playing we had to say not goodbye, but see ya later.
So if you run into our little girl I can almost guarantee you she will tell you about her new friend Bella.

That's so awesome!! A much loved and loving 4 legged friend is great to have and will perhaps booster her ego. That's a great age --- for both dog and girl.
I am sure you won't regret the decision. And she is so gorgeous!
