The Door

This might seem strange but until now I haven'y really been too excited about the house. And here's why. It just seems like a big "make work" project. You know something to fill our time with. Something to keep us busy for a while that won't really change our lives. Until now. It took installing a door to change that feeling. And it was this door to be precise.
This is the door from our garage to the mudroom. I feel as if the living part is now a house, it is separated from the outside. Sealed off from the cold garage. No more mice can get in (hopefully). I have never been so excited to install a door knob!
After that we got our in floor heat going, I lay down on the warm concrete and could have fallen asleep. Then we got the fireplace going. Oh the smell!! If you drive by our house right now you will see a blue tarp on the roof, that is covering the chimney because Trevor couldn't quite finish sealing it and it was supposed to rain, which it did.

The Kitchen

The stairs up to the kids' rooms

And I have got all my paint colors picked out. And thanks to the advice from you guys, I will be going with Aura Paint from Benjamin Moore. The cost difference was about $ 500. My time and sanity is worth that. The Paint dude told me that it dries in 1 hour for re-coat, that's when my jaw hit the floor. That's a big time saver right there. So the drywall guys told me they hope to be done in about 1 week from wednesday. So I guess the paint count down is on!

And a HUGE thank you to the guys who came out to help us finish the Drywall!!
