On a Down Swing

We finally got summer. Thankful this is our last summer without Central air. Although our basement is nice and cool and is always a great reprieve from the heat.

As I sit here now , most of this week is waiting. We are getting our first inspection today so I have to wait for them. If it goes well then I wait for the back filling to happen, which I am super excited about because there will be no more death trench around the house and we will actually be able to walk into our house. I'm sure some people will be happy they don't have to traverse over a plank 20 feet above the ground to work on our house. Also we are waiting while the framers finish our main floor sub-floor. Okay, our framers I feel really bad for, this heat + working in an all white enclosed space = mucho heat! But all of this waiting is good. Trevor is in Regina all week so he is not home and things are getting done properly. So it is all good, if the inspection goes good.

The down side to this heat is trying to do too much too fast. Yesterday My little muscley man and myself moved 2 trailer loads to our Rental house here in town. And today he woke up with a headache. He felt good enough to go to school, but we'll see how the day goes. Then my little princess woke up with a fever, she has had a slight cough for a couple of days. So she is resting in our cool basement watching TV and drinking lots of water. Which is actually good, because I need to do more packing up, not the sick part but the resting in the basement part.

It feels good to get our basement pour done, which by the way went fairly good, a learning curve but no blow-outs! We get our next ICF delivery on Friday so the next round will begin.

There is Fair Days in town this weekend, so will be partaking in some events. The good thing is I don't have to cook , we just go to all the fundraiser events!

Hope everyone has a great week!

I think it's very commendable how you seem to be handling life with all the changes and curve-balls. Sick kids, moving temporarily, Trevor gone, etc. Looking forward to helping you tomorrow night.
